Amcrest 4K NV4232-EI 32CH AI NVR Security System with Facial & Vehicle Recognition - Supports 32 x 4K IP Cameras & 2 x 16TB HDD (HDD Not Included) - Ideal for Home & Business Surveillance

After using this Amcrest NV4232-EI NVR for a while now, I would highly recommend this as an addition if you are already invested into the Amcrest camera ecosystem. The NVR is packaged very well and protected and it includes everything you need to get it up and running. The quick start guide provides enough detail, however there is a more detailed product guide PDF that you can view or download online. The version I got does not come with a hard drive installed but it does come with the SATA cables so you can install up to two hard drives of your choice. Opening the case and installing a hard drive was super easy and I was able to repurpose a 16 TB drive that I already had. The initial setup couldn't be easier because all you have to do is connect the NVR to any monitor or TV via HDMI and then using the supplied mouse you just go through the first steps to get it up and running. I gave it a static IP address so that I know it will  never change to something different. After initially setup and connected to my network I opted to unplug the NVR from a monitor and just have it as a standalone box that I can connect to via the web interface. I have numerous and different Amcrest cameras all throughout my property and this NVR automatically saw and connected to all of them perfectly. The functionality that I can see and configure via the web interface is exactly the same as accessing each camera individually. So this makes the NVR a very good tool for configuring, changing or managing all of your Amcrest cameras from one location and device. The video quality is fantastic just as it is on all of their cameras. The recording functionality is the real star and reason for me setting up this NVR. Connecting and initializing the hard drives in the NVR is super easy and it is straightforward to set up recording on all of your cameras. It will record 24/7 or based on whatever event parameters you set and it is very accurate when it comes to motion detection, person detection, and vehicle detection. One thing that I love with the NVR is being able to review footage from multiple camera streams at once. You can drill down to a specific time and review footage from multiple cameras at the same time instead of one by one. This NVR makes viewing live streams as well as recorded footage so easy. I have not had any downtime or network connectivity issues at all with this NVR or its connected to any of my Amcrest cameras. The navigation of the web interface is easy enough to get down quickly, even though there are many settings and configurations you can make. It is fast and processes happen quickly, there is no real lag or slowness with the whole system.The only downside is that the NVR can only handle some of the AI functionality (face detection) on 2 video streams and not all 8 like other detection functionality. So you have to choose wisely which cameras you want to have that functionality. I would highly recommend this NVR to anyone with multiple Amcrest cameras and you want to buy into the Amcrest ecosystem. This is a very feature rich and future proof NVR that will provide you years of solid service just like all of their other products. This NVR is very user friendly and makes managing and recording all of your cameras very easy and straightforward.
