Used with a step down voltage converter it worked perfect, I used this converter from Amazon and one male and one female socket also from Amazon to power my canon camera for Astrophotography. The seller offers this for Canon cameras that require 7.2 volts at 8.1W according to the battery,. The power adapter has a 12vDC socket there is no internal stepper in the dummy battery it passes 12V directly through to the camera. The wattage can exceed the device will only use what it needs, the voltage cannot it will damage the Camera most likely that far over range if you connect directly to a 12V power source you must step down the voltage first to no more than 8.5 volts first. Amazon sells a 7.5 volt step down transformer mine arrives next day so I have not tried it yet… be very careful with this dummy battery to avoid a costly repair.
